situation
Our client igefa is a specialised retailer and supplier offering a wide range of products in the fields of hygiene, cleaning, healthcare, occupational safety and hotel and catering supplies across Europe. The customer base ranges from B2C to large B2B customers. Yet the performance of the B2C and small B2B segments fell short of expectations and faced various technical challenges.
Therefore, our client made the strategic decision to overhaul its operations, including the creation of a brand new online shop. This redesign was intended to effectively counter the competition and attract a broader customer base.

approach
Holistic development approach for verticalisation project.
The aim was to create a flexible online shop with Levejo.de, in which the various components can be modified independently of each other, the development tasks were divided into so-called ‘verticals’, which could be developed in parallel by several teams. Spaceteams took on the development of all shop features relating to the buying and after-sales process. This included the entire range of functionalities, such as the shopping basket, checkout process with payment processing and customer account management. The team defined the architecture, set up large parts of the infrastructure and developed the software. Throughout the entire process, the team worked according to industry standards such as ‘Clean Architecture’ and ‘Domain-Driven Design’ (DDD).

Reliability and flexibility – right from the start.
The new Levejo webshop was successfully launched just 7 months after the start of the project and represents an important step forward. The revised shop structure not only increases reliability, but also offers more flexibility for expansions. This allows our customer to react quicker to market changes and at the same time benefit from considerable time savings by reducing manual processes.
